County Executive Candidate Is 1st to Run on Public Campaign Dollars

James Kitchin has made history as the first candidate for Anne Arundel County Executive to commit to running entirely on the county’s public campaign finance system, established by Bill 25-23 in 2023.

Under the system, participating candidates agree to accept only individual donations of $250 or less and refuse corporate contributions. In return, qualified candidates receive matching public funds, allowing them to run competitive campaigns powered by small-dollar donors.
