Anne Arundel County Executive Democratic Candidates Make Their Case Ahead of Maryland Primary
Reporter Ja Nai Wright at WMAR-2 News profiled the five candidates competing to replace Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman. James Kitchin, a special assistant in the Pittman administration for the past seven years, distinguished himself as the only candidate using the county’s public financing system.
“I’m not taking any corporate money, any PAC money, no developer money.”
On education, Kitchin emphasized his roots in a “pro-education family” and the TAAAC endorsement. On the broader race, he made the case for continuity:
“I am the most ready on day one to come in and create a smooth transition.”
